Eddie Bond: Fiddle Instructor, has talents that can bring an audience out of their seats. He is a powerful singer, as well as one of the most respected old-time fiddlers in the Blue Ridge. Like many other great fiddlers from this region, he is also a skilled old-time banjoist, and has considerable skills with guitar and Autoharp.
Brandon Davis: Guitar Instructor, Gary Davis tried to get his young son interested in the guitar. He told him that if he learned how to play “Blackberry Blossom,” he’d buy him a guitar for Christmas. And so, for Christmas 1988, 11 year old Brandon Davis found a brand spanking new Henderson D-18 under his tree. Ten years later, Brandon uses that very same guitar, a little worse for wear, in the guitar competition at Wayne Henderson’s Festival. And he wins the first prize—another Henderson guitar.
Stanley Widener: Banjo and Mandolin Instructor, Has won numerous awards at the Henderson guitar contest and other area fiddlers conventions playing oldtime banjo, mandolin, and guitar. He has performed with country singer Norma Jean from the Porter Wagner Show, and grammy nominated celtic artist Alicia Merritt.
